David Arbizu was in Kolkata when Tara School was still an idea. He was one of our first collaborator and the first one visiting it when it was already working. He wrote these beautiful lines in june as a homage to his stayed in the school. Thank you very much David!!!
TARA SCHOOL A small house, half demolished, rooms where it was imposible to get in. Dirt, broken bamboo trunks, old piled bricks. My eyes and my mind did not allow me accept what later would appear as a beautiful reality. Tara School was going to exist, it was going to be created. The union of two great beings, pure and full of love and even more of energy and willingness, together with an organitation that was the perfect representation of “wanting and not being able”, they created already a non stop Project. After a while, my second visit. The physical, material part of the Project was finished. Everything was new, perfect, there was only missing a sign saying “ Brand New”.
Together with the new walls, freshly painted, and the perfect electricity system, there was a beautiful human energy: the teachers and the massi. Smiling, happy, full of joy, the main beleivers of the Project. Finally the day of seeing it working came, that was pure Light. Many children very fine combed, playful, happy appeared shining life around. In that real party, the one that for them is now a daily party, went together with an order, a Schedule, a very efective formality and everything in the real way of learning. Tara School represents future, equality, respect, humanity, we have to take care of it and try to create unlimitless projects like this around the World. Looking forward to see you again Tara School, so you can full my heart with your laughs, your lessons, the thousand colorful dresses of the children that fills the playground, the evolution that you represent for your neighbourhood, for India, and why not, for the World. |
